Who ARE the Perimeter Patrol?

The Perimeter Patrol is a team of the World’s Best Heroes who set out to help all the planets on the outer fringe of the Solar System. Led by Captain Martin Hawkins, alongside Luther Mynot and more, the team sets their sails on saving the Universe.

Originally published by Ziff-Davis in Amazing Adventures #5 and created by Murphy Anderson, the Perimeter Patrol were left in the past to be swept up by the Public Domain until today.

Fruit Comics has republished the original Perimeter Patrol comic books to be available for purchase right now, alongside some bonus stories from across the Ziff-Davis Multiverse!

Who was Murphy Anderson?

Murphy C. Anderson Jr was born on July 9th, 1926 and grew up in North Carolina before moving to New York City to become an artist for a company known as Fiction House. Throughout the 1950s, Anderson began working at several other comic companies such as Ziff-Davis, Pines Comics, DC Comics and Atlas Comics, later known as Marvel Comics.

Over at DC, he worked on popular characters like Hawkman, Batgirl and Superman but it wasn’t until his work at Ziff-Davis that Anderson would create his characters, one of them being the Perimeter Patrol.

Throughout the 60s and 70s, Anderson would continue to work with DC on Superman alongside Jack Kirby, having to redraw Jimmy Olsen’s face several times as Kirby never seemed to get it right. Anderson also liked to hide his initials in every single piece of artwork he did across the multiple places he worked, so you always knew when you were looking at a Murphy Anderson original.

Throughout his life, he won many awards for his work in the comic industry, such as the Alley Award in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965 and also became a part of the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1988.

Murphy was married to his wife Helen for 67 Years and had 3 kids until his death on October 22nd, 2015 at the age of 89 due to Heart Failure. Murphy will be remembered for his amazing work in the comics industry, and for being one of the greats in the comic world.

Where is The Journey?

Pencilified Studios’ The Journey is finally close to release!

Over the past year, we’ve released a few updates for our beta of our upcoming game, The Journey. Well, we’ve been hard at work over these past few months working hard on developing the game to be better than ever. We’re still in the middle of upgrading the game, but we’re pretty close to getting a complete game.

Fruit Comics’ The Little Pencil can make it your way into your School Library!

The Little Pencil as a story began based on another children’s book that Charlie Lyons-Morgan heard when he was at school, and now both Fruit Comics’ The Little Pencil and Fruit Comics’ The Little Pencil 2: The Erasers Return are available to be bought for Australian and New Zealand School Libraries from Wheelers for Schools!

This is a great opportunity to begin to learn the beginnings of the Fruit Comics Universe in a brand new way for a 4-12 target audience.

Company Goals

Hello again.

I know I haven’t been updating you for a while, but I thought I’d tell you about the company goals.

We’ve had a huge response to Full Story Productions’ Fishtail, which is quite insane, so I know we actually have attention on us, a small amount no doubt, but some attention is still good.

I want to expand, and I want to expand quickly.

Currently, if we look at Paper and Games, I (Charlie Lyons-Morgan, the CEO), control literally everything about the company. I control Paper and Games, Fruit Comics, Full Story Productions, Pencilified Studios and the rest of the company.

I don’t like that. I don’t like the fact that I’m controlling everything about everything. Of course, it’s good that I can be personally creative and control what the company puts out, but I know for a fact that I can’t do that forever. I touched on this a while ago, but the company doesn’t bring in a lot of money, which needs to change.

What I’m currently doing, even in my mind while typing this blog post, is working out a business plan in order to actually begin to pull in money to the company, so we can finally start having more than 1 full-time employee! (That would be insane).

However, I also know that we need to look at the past. We can’t just pretend the past never happened, it did. So, I want to be able to archive everything for our journey, and chronicle everything I possibly can, hence the Blog Post. These Blog Posts will never disappear, that’s the goal. Even if we transfer to a different website, these blog posts will follow with them.

So, Employees, we need you! But we also need enough money to PAY PEOPLE TO BEGIN WITH!

Fruit Comics’ Quick Flick: A Pencilly Halloween

Back on Halloween, we were introduced to Ricky, Frank, Rose, Olivia, The Ruler and the evil PumpKing. This was the beginning of the Fruit Comics Universe and the beginning of Stage One. Fruit Comics' Quick Flick: A Pencilly Halloween follows Ricky and Frank as they try to make a Halloween adventure for themselves. However, it turns out that there's an evil Pumpkin that lives at the end of their street.

Fruit Comics’ Quick Flick: An Appley Holiday

Also back in 2022, this time on Christmas Day, we were introduced to the Rulers of the Universe and the Apple Royal Family. Watch as Father Apple, 2.000 years ago created the Apple Planet through an ancient material known as the Core Star, which he found, along with the rest of the Rulers of the Universe in the Stars of Flongdon where he met Gracie Staria.

Fruit Comics’ The Elementals

Recently, exclusively on Tapas.io, we’ve seen the introduction to a team known as The Elementals through comic strips. Meet The Drop, The Leaf and Superwind as they team up with Gracie Staria in order to figure out what’s been going on around Earth in these recent times. New issues release every Friday.

Fruit Comics’ Captain Martin

Martin Hawkins was a young boy on Earth in the 1960s until he got conducted by aliens and taken to a planet known as Rondos. In Present Day, Martin Hawkins has become the leader of the Perimeter Patrol and finds displaced humans from across the Perimeter of the Universe, and brings them back to Earth. However, something seems to be off. Fruit Comics’ Captain Martin releases on March 14th, 2023.

Fruit Comics’ The Little Pencil Season One

Now, the big one. After Halloween, Ricky has been interested in Objecticals, along with his friend Dr. Steve Brown. Dr. Steve Brown decides to build an Unnatural Objectical Machine which can turn any human into an Objectical. One day, Ricky’s brother Frank accidentally turns into an Objectical and is told to leave his house by his mother. Ricky also falls into the same accident and goes on the run while his friends, Rose and Amy are looking for him. Meet all-new characters and make all new friendships when Fruit Comics’ The Little Pencil Season One releases in June 2023.

Fruit Comics’ The Odd Cafe Season One

The Odd Cafe follows Sara, Loid and Damian as Loid moves into an apartment above a cafe, and gets a job to be able to go to College. Fruit Comics’ Epic Apple Season One

Epic Apple has been living on Blapple for all his life with his brother, but one day, his brother goes missing. Father Apple and Mother Apple are worried, so Epic Apple travels to Earth to find Fort Coehor, the sister city of Fieldham in pieces after an attack. Epic Apple assembles a team of heroes he finds from across Fort Coehor and Fieldham, consisting of a Donut named Hugo and The Drop as they go up against a threat that may be a little too personal for Epic Apple. Fruit Comics’ Quick Flick: the News Anchor guy.

The News Anchor Guy, otherwise known as Luis has been a news anchor for BAF News for a while, but when many threats come to Fieldham and Fort Coehor, Luis finds himself in an accident. Fruit Comics’ Quick Flick: the News Anchor guy releases Early 2024.

Fruit Comics’ Job Search Season One

Hugo, Libby, Phoebe and Sabrina don’t have a job, so they go to the Fieldham Centre for Objecticals and talk to Jeremiah who gets them different jobs, such as working at the Odd Cafe or working at the Parks Department. However, as the series goes on, more and more drama begins, to the point where Phoebe and Sabrina become police officers! Watch Fruit Comics’ Job Search Season One when it releases in Mid 2024.

And finally,

Fruit Comics’ The Superhumans

Meet a young boy known as Terry Thunder Jr, who is the son of Terry Thunder Sr. who was the secret Captain Thunder who fought in the second World War and was the founder of the Government Organization, The Higher United Nations Defence Enforcement Reserves, otherwise known as T.H.U.N.D.E.R. One day, Terry Thunder Jr takes a magical train and meets Shazam The Wizard, who gives him the powers of S.H.A.Z.A.M. making him the Marvelous Captain Marvel!

Also, meet Dan Garret, a man who witnessed his father being murdered in Fort Coehor, which inspired him to become a police officer. However, he finds out that the justice system is too slow, so he looks up to the many heroes of his time, such as Captain Marvel and the mysterious yet powerful Superman, inspiring him to become the Blue Beetle.

Meet Epic Pear and Mr Pencil, two Objectical heroes who also looked up to the other heroes as they try to stop an ancient war between the Apples and the Goblins of Narfolk.

Learn the history of the Fruit Comics Universe in this story taking place in the 1960s in Fruit Comics’ The Superhumans!

The Superhumans will be the first Fruit Comics movie as it releases at the end of 2024.

Lots and LOTS of Work.

Hey again! I think I like just writing blog posts. Honestly thinking of bringing back the BYO Podcast just so can I talk about things because I have a lot to talk about.

Let’s begin with actual projects.

Fruit Comics. I just got my first OFFICIAL copy of The Little Pencil 2: The Erasers Return. I had a mock-up copy, but now I have a Not For Resale version! I actually have a Not For Resale version of both of my books, and I have a few things to change (the blurb), but it’s look a lot better than the first book.

Secondly, been working a little less on the Fruit Comics Universe. I actually now have a Writing Director, Ronin, who is currently in charge of the writing process for Fruit Comics and Paper and Games as a whole. As you may have seen on Twitter (RIP), I also have a writer for The Fieldham College, Madolvr. The Fieldham College is looking really good, I’m excited for you guys to see it.

I have ideas in the back of my head for ideas for Fruit Comics, along with a project that I just got pitched for a show that sounds like it could be interesting (no spoilers).

Full Story Productions. I released In The Loop. I released it quietly so I could begin working on Exiting The Loop, as I felt I couldn’t do anything more for In The Loop, so I added a song and left it at that. It’s almost the same as the version that’s on this website, but slightly different. The version on this website actually has an exclusive scene, so if you’re interested, check it out in the Exclusive Content section. I’ve also been pitched a show for Full Story Productions that I’m EXTREMELY excited for you guys to see. It’s a very big show for Paper and Games, and unlike something we’ve ever done before. So no, it’s not a comedy. I actually have a few other things that aren’t comedies at Full Story Productions, but they’re all early production.

I also announced a BTS series for Fruit Comics stuff. That should be fun, I already have a lot of BTS stuff from A Pencilly Halloween, so hopefully when we get to a full show it’ll be huge.

Finally, Pencilified Studios. I’m only gonna announce it here, but I’ve been hard at work to release The Journey on the Microsoft Store, so that should be coming soon.

Fruit Comics and the Future

Fruit Comics Phase One

What is Fruit Comics Phase One? Well, simply, it’s an in-house terminology that I will be using for all Fruit Comics projects from A Pencilly Halloween to The Fruit Pencils Season One (with it also including The Little Pencil book on Amazon). This doesn’t really mean anything, as for the shows, they’re already split into official categories (The Book of the Fruit Pencils, The Book of Regular People, Quick Flicks etc.), and the Book Universe is just that, the Book Universe (that may expand depending on sales).

However, using this Phase Structure helps my mind with the story-telling of the Universe. I’m really into inter-connected storytelling, even if it’s not technically official like the Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Universe. I like the idea of random stuff taking place in the same universe for literally no reason, such as how I’ve managed to find connections that connect The Office UK to Arrested Development and Avengers: Infinity War.

So, while making the Fruit Comics Universe, I’ve made it clear when things take place in context to one another to the exact date and year. For example, The Odd Cafe Season 1 Episode 5 takes place on March 8th, 2023. Now, the Book Universe and the Fruit Comics Universe don’t connect, but I really want to create engaging stories that can stand alone from each other, but also connect to the wider universe. A common complaint with the old Universe, especially with The College Season 1, is that is heavily connected to The Little Pencil Season 2, and you would need to watch the other shows to understand the underlying storylines. Although The Fieldham College does actually connect to The Little Pencil Season 1, The Odd Cafe Season 1, Job Search Season 1, Epic Apple Season 1 and an unannounced show’s first season, you DO NOT need to watch any of these shows to understand what’s happening.

So, what’s in Fruit Comics Phase One? I’ll explain.

As I said previously, projects in the Book Universe depend on sales, which so far has been literally nothing. So that’s what’s coming in The Fruit Comics Universe and Book Universe. I’m excited to get started on these shows, which is what I’m doing now.

The Fantastic Crayon, Profitability and Sales

It is with great displeasure as we announce the delay of The Fantastic Crayon. As Fruit Comics is a small company, and has very little employees (1, to be exact), it becomes difficult to produce work to the best of our ability on short time constraints.
In the future of Fruit Comics, we look to being able to grow the brand through sales of the first book and Paper and Games Merchandise. However, due to a lack in sales for the first book, it has become clear that something needs to be done before we head straight first into another book.

Paper and Games has made products for profitability before, such as the original line of Fruit Comics merch available on hismario123.com (before its closure) and The Little Pencil book on Amazon, but Paper and Games has never found an audience willing to purchase our products.

Paper and Games is looking to create products that people will enjoy that will be able to bring in money to our company, but this is only possible with your support.

Although Pencilified Studios has been looking to release their first game, The Journey through Microsoft, we haven’t heard anything from Microsoft after submitting the game over 3 weeks ago. Of course, this isn’t any fault of our own, but this does mean that will most likely release the game through our own means.

We’re currently looking into ways to release it, through GameJolt, itch.io and other platforms, as well as having a location to purchase it right from this website.

We understand the risks it takes to be able to build a company from the ground up, and we’re currently planning ways on promoting the brand as much as possible, but at this current point in time it is barely affordable to continue working on Fruit Comics’ A Pencilly Halloween, however we will still be releasing that, along with a Christmas Special focusing on Epic Apple.

On a personal note, Paper and Games means the world to me, I’ve put a lot of hard work into growing this brand, but I’ve just never been successful at all. I believe that with more hard work I will be able to really grow it into what I want it to be, but due to school and a “real job”, it becomes hard to find time to work on the company.

I really wish Paper and Games was in a profitable position so I can truly bring out the ideas that I have with this company, such as a focus on bringing other people’s creativity into the world, which we are starting with the Creativity Fund, but at this current point in time it is almost impossible.

I’m going to try and grow the brand on TikTok and YouTube Shorts, but we’ll see what happens, I guess.

The Wild West - 2023

Something that was never explored in the original Toy Universe was connections to completely different characters in completely different settings, so with this new direction we’re going, we’ll be expanding to all new corners of the universe!

Thought we were done? We’re barely scratching the surface on what Pencilified Studios has in the works. Right now we’re ready to unveil the first project in the brand new Adventuring Universe! Flora’s Beginning will be a mini-series taking us through the beginnings of Flora’s Life, such as how she met the now adored Katie and her friendship with Adam. Final Adventure: Definitive Edition

Final Adventure will be following suite with the same sort of treatment. Yes, we will be using the money coming in from the Kickstarter in order to fund these projects, as we know that many of you will be invested in these projects, as we need an entire team to be able to create these projects. There will be other animated shows and games as part of this big project, but we’ll keep you posted on those when we get to them.

The Fantastic Crayon - October 16th 2022

A brand new Fruit Comics Picture Story Book will be released. Titled The Fantastic Crayon, the book will explore The Fantastic Crayon as he discovers that more crayons live throughout the Paper Planet as he ventures out of Wanborne to discover more about himself. The Little Pencil 2: The Erasers Return - December 2022
After The Fantastic Crayon, The Crayon joins back up with The Little Pencil in order to fight a new foe who’s been creating new erasers. The Little Pencil is forced to venture out of his planet to gain help from across the galaxy. He arrives on Earth in a strange country known as Narfolk. Explore The Little Pencil 2: The Erasers Return when it releases this December on Amazon!

The Little Pencil Season 1 - 2023

The Book of The Fruit Pencils Chapter One is the first Chapter in a series of shows that puts together the mighty Fruit Pencils. These characters will be the more familiar territory that you’ve seen before. The first show will be The Little Pencil Season 1. A boy named Ricky will have these new powers forced upon him one day, and he’ll have to go out and discover himself as he tries to hang out with his friends still. Similar to the Adventuring Universe, we will be setting up a Kickstarter for the Fruit Comics shows so we can get them out to you sooner, as this is really only the beginning. We’re only talking Chapter One here.

Epic Apple Season 1 - TBA

The next show is Epic Apple. Finally, Epic Apple will be getting a complete show all to himself. Epic Apple has been a side character to The Little Pencil for a long time, but we never learnt about his history and the planet he comes from, being Blapple. Well in this show, we will be spending almost all our time on Blapple. Trust us when we say that this show will be a lot of fun. You’ll be introduced to a new version of Epic Apple, along with his brother Bob and his parents, who happen to be the King and Queen of Blapple. Yes, this is the second in the first Chapter of the Book of The Fruit Pencils, and we’re really excited to show you it when it comes out.

Rose Season 1 - TBA

Remember when we talked about Rose earlier? Well here we are again talking about her! Rose will be finally getting her own show all to herself, which explores womanhood in what I would hope is a positive manner. Get introduced to brand new characters, as well as other characters who you will meet throughout these other announcements. We don’t want to spoil too much, but the show will truly be very exciting.

The Magic Sandwich Season 1 - TBA

Our next show is The Magic Sandwich Season 1. We truly can not give anything away about this show, but what we can tell you is that we are very excited for The Magic Sandwich to grow as a character in this new universe.

The Fruit Pencils Season 1 - TBA

And to cap off Chapter One, we will be releasing The Fruit Pencils Season 1. The Fruit Pencils Season 1 will be the team up of The Little Pencil, Epic Apple, Rose and The Magic Sandwich. Will new players come into the picture? Who knows? Find out in The Fruit Pencils Season 1!

The Odd Cafe Season 1 - 2023
No, The Book of The Fruit Pencils isn’t the only book we’re starting. We also have The Book of Regular People Chapter One. To kick it all off, we have The Odd Cafe. The Odd Cafe stars all new characters never seen before set in the same universe as the other shows! Expect The Odd Cafe Season 1 next year.

Job Search Season 1 - TBA

The second project in the Book of Regular People is Job Search. Job Search will follow several Objecticals that are on the search for a job. Maybe they’ll run into several characters you may know, who knows really This show will be a Mockumentary that follows the characters around.

The Fieldham College Season 1 - 2023

Another book is coming your way! The Book of the Omegas Chapter One. You’ll understand what it means soon. The first show will be The Fieldham College Season 1. It will follow a group you may be familiar with, being Jayde, Kevin, Jack, Zach and Little Apple in their first year of The Fieldham College. The original show, The College was so much fun to write and produce so I really think you guys will enjoy this one when it comes out next year! That’s right, The Fieldham College will be the first project to be released in this universe as it will be completely produced by Charlie Lyons-Morgan!

The Wonderful World of Jason Season 1 - TBA

The Wonderful World of Jason is finally hitting your screens soon. Follow Jason as he accidentally arrives in the future soon. Again, there’s not much we can share yet, so apologies.

Goblins of Narfolk Season 1 - TBA

There’s only one project we can announce from The Book of The World Chapter One, with that being Goblins of Narfolk Season 1. This show will introduce us to the country of Narfolk and the Red Comet, and the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. Learn about all this in the Goblins of Narfolk Season 1.

Hello everyone and welcome to the brand new website!

Look, I know this isn’t the greatest thing in the universe, but Paper and Games really needed some sort of website in order to be able to promote itself better.

Many of the blog posts shared will be professional blog posts detailing new announcements from Paper and Games (such as the Paper and Games Fest on Oct. 8th), but this post is just a personal blog post from Charlie, the CEO of Paper and Games.

The idea behind this blog, and the exclusive content is that you’ll have one place where people can read about how this company basically started with almost nothing, considering I am literally the only permanent employee at the moment, with everyone else being freelancers.

Paper and Games literally does not have the money to hire actual employee’s, even if I wish I could.

I have so many ideas on how to grow this business, I just really need money. Of course, I am not in this for the money, you just need it to actually make things.

For example, the upcoming Fruit Comics Quick Flick entitled A Pencilly Halloween has a budget of $150 dollars (AUD). I know for a fact it will not make the money back, as it actually will not make any money back. Of course, we could always release merchandise that goes along with the short film, but we also know that we don’t have a large audience, so no one would actually buy the merch.

Paper and Games is currently not a profitable company, but we’re hoping that with future partnerships (and one that I legally cannot disclose), we will be able to gain money finally, as Paper and Games has never made a profit.

Hismario123 as YouTube channel and brand also hasn’t, but that has actually at least made a little bit of money.

I know most companies wouldn’t talk about how much money they make but when there’s no money to talk about then what’s the point? May as well talk about it.

If you’ve explored the website, you’d know about an upcoming game known as The Journey. The Journey is going to be released on Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC, but the game will free, so how will we actually make any money off of it? Well, besides from the budget of the game being $0 anyway, we do have a plan on how to make a profit from the game (legally can’t say, but I will say it isn’t ads or crypto-mining).

Anyway, that’s pretty much everything I have to talk about. If I can think of anything else, I would write it in this blog post.
